Hi, I’m Nick
Sometimes we face difficulties in life, and we need someone to talk to - someone who can help us navigate complex emotions and provide a different perspective during challenging times. Whether you are struggling with the pressures of school or work, navigating changes in your relationships, or simply feeling a sense of uncertainty about the future, you do not have to carry that weight alone.
I view therapy quite simply: it’s about creating a safe, non-judgmental, and open space. Together, we’ll reflect on where you are and explore the ideas, stories, or beliefs you might be holding onto. Sometimes, that means gently challenging the old rules you’ve been living by - especially the ones that no longer help you build the life you actually want.
ABOUT ME
Before training as a psychotherapist, I spent nearly a decade working in the humanitarian and charity sector. This has included working in areas of refugee support, child protection, gender based violence, criminal justice and education. My career within the humanitarian sector has provided me with in-depth experience working with different communities and cultures from around the world.
Alongside setting up my private practice, I have worked with both short term and long term clients at Hestia, MIND and Children and Adult Therapy Services. I also designed and set up a free mental health service in North London (Islington and surrounding boroughs) for young men from minoritised communities. This has included running peer support groups and individual therapy sessions.
I have been working with clients since September 2023 and currently in my final year of completing a MSc In Integrative Psychotherapy. I am registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) as a trainee psychotherapist.
MY APPROACH
I have a warm and curious approach, ultimately seeing therapy as a collaboration between the therapist and client, where together we will help you navigate, understand and move forward.
Throughout my career I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults from various cultures and backgrounds, and as such hold the importance of bringing culture and identity into the work we do. I am committed to a practice that is embedded in social justice and anti-oppression, and invite these themes to be addressed within our work together.
As an integrative and relational therapist, I will often draw upon and combine different theories and approaches. This includes drawing from Psychodynamic, Transactional Analysis, Internal Family Systems, CBT and Acceptance Commitment Therapy.
I have experience in supporting people with a range of difficulties including anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, addiction, trauma recovery and relationship difficulties.
SESSIONS
I am seeing clients only online at the moment. I offer weekly therapy on a short or long-term basis, depending on what feels right for you. Sessions are 50 minutes and cost £50.
If you’d like to explore working together, the first step is for us to have a short phone call where you can ask questions and get a sense of what it might be like to work together.
Questions I often ask on the initial call which you might find helpful to reflect upon are:
1) Why are you seeking therapy?
2) What do you hope might change through our work?
3) Why now?
